Round table „reform of the anti-corruption institutions in Montenegro: How to make the e system more efficient? “was held on the 24th of May, 2010, in Hotel „Podgorica“. At the round table was presented policy study with the same name, which contains analysis of functioning of the anti-corruption institutions in Montenegro, presentation of the similar institutions in the region and their work, as well as proposal for the transformation of the existing institutional frame with aim to achieve better results in the field of the fight against corruption.
At the round table, except representatives of CEMI, representatives of the anti-corruption institutions have also exposed their opinion: Mrs. Vesna Ratković spoke in behalf of the Directorate for the Anti-Corruption Initiative and Mrs Maja Karas-Bošković spoke in behalf of the Commission for Prevention of the Conflict of Interests. Mr Drago Kos, President of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), gave his opinion on overall situation of anti-corruption policies in Montenegro and functioning of institutional framework in this area. At the round table were also present representatives of the political parties, ambassadors, representatives of the non-governmental organizations and media.
This round table has marked beginning of the constructive dialogue on improvement of the institutional framework for the fight against corruption in Montenegro, among state institutions and civil society. Also, the concrete model for this transformation was presented, that later could be used as the basis for further discussion.
